Spanish Christian Thanksgiving Resources

As a Christian family, I want us to focus more on practicing thankfulness and gratitude during Thanksgiving. As a culture, we are constantly being tempted to focus more on the amazing food of the day, football, Black Friday, etc. However, I believe that Thanksgiving should just be a reminder of how we should be practicing gratitude daily toward Christ and others all year long.

Furthermore, as language learners, it’s so important to be practicing those Spanish language skills through reading, writing, speaking and listening. I’ve got all of those areas covered in this resource-filled post!

Spanish Thanksgiving Songs for Christian Families

Regardless of your media streaming preference, I’ve created Spotify and Youtube playlists for you that will have your children, as well as you, praising and thanking God together while singing in Spanish. These worship songs vary from spontaneous worship to salsa style to reggaetón. I guarantee you’ll find something you like.

I’m impartial to Spotify; however I’ve included in the Youtube playlist songs that include lyrics to help you get familiarized with the songs as well as participate in the worship. These two playlists are not identical, and they are always growing, so be sure to follow me.

Spanish Thanksgiving Activities for Families

Looking for ways to create thanksgiving in your house all month long? How about a new tradition that focuses on being thankful rather than just turkey and football? Here are a few ideas that incorporate your whole family and can be done in any language.

Gratitude Pumpkin in Spanish

Take a fresh pumpkin and place it in a communal location like the center of your dinning table. Everyday everyone in the family writes something on the pumpkin that they are thankful for. You can write in spiral style on the pumpkin or collage style. *Tip*: Use a permanent marker. Decorate it however you like, but the idea is to focus on gratitude together. This serves as a lovely center piece for your Thanksgiving dinner as well.

Gratitude Table Runner

Hang craft paper or butcher paper that you can find at the Dollar Store on the wall of a communal location of your home. Make it a daily practice as a family to add to this Gratitude List. *Tip*: Don’t use permanent markers rather washable markers as you don’t want them to bleed through onto your wall. When Thanksgiving approaches, this list would make a meaningful table runner for your dinning table. It’s all the more special too because you did it as a family and in the languages that represent you.

Spanish Bible Verses on Thanksgiving

Another way to make Christ the center of your Thanksgiving is through scripture. While around the Thanksgiving table, have family members take turns reading aloud these verses from Psalms. They can be printed out, cut into strips, and passed out. I love the idea of every family member participating in reading scripture aloud and in Spanish. I’ve included the Psalms in Spanish as well as English for bilingual families that need the support.
